From the Pastor's Desk - February 1, 2015

Dear Parishioners,
The next couple of weeks I have to be out of town for four different meetings related to the other responsibilities that Archbishop Lucas has assigned to me. From Monday, February 2, to Sunday, February 8, I will be in Dallas for two different meetings related to my role as National Chaplain for the Catholic Medical Association: The Medical Ethics Workshop for the Bishops and a retreat/meeting for the board of the Catholic Medical Association. Then, on Monday and Tuesday, February 9-10, I will be in Schuyler for our Archdiocesan winter clergy conference. Finally, from Wednesday to Friday, February 11-13, I will be in Washington, D.C., for the board meeting for the National Advisory Council of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Please keep me in your prayers for safe and uninterrupted travel!
This week, especially keep in your prayers all in the Church who live the vocation of consecrated life as Archbishop Lucas celebrates a Mass on the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, February 2, a special Mass with consecrated persons in the Archdiocese. Also, as I have mentioned before, we are currently in the Year for Consecrated Life that Pope Francis has declared. Let us especially pray for the Benedictines from Mt. Michael Abby and the Columban Missionaries in Bellevue who send their priests to celebrate Masses for the parish when I have to be out of town in thanksgiving for their availability and willingness to do so. Let us pray, too, for more vocations to consecrated life, especially that the youth of our parish will respond to such a call if our Lord calls them to such.
Have a wonderful and grace-filled week.
God bless you,
Fr. Gutowski
