From the Pastor's Desk - January 25, 2015

Dear Parishioners,
For those who made a pledge to the Blessed and Thankful capital campaign and who will fulfill it in installments, please use the yellow building fund envelopes in your envelope packet and put these in the Sunday collection or, if you use a  regular envelope, please mark on the envelope that it is for the Blessed and Thankful campaign. Of course you can mail this to the parish also. You will be receiving soon a letter from me outlining this for you. Thus far, the pledges total $499,952.83. Once again, I thank all who have made a pledge to our campaign to pay off the loan for the new Religious Education Center building. You are awesome and I pray that our Lord will bless you abundantly in return!

As we continue to pray for respect for life during the month of January, next Saturday on January 31, the Nebraska State March for Life will be held in Lincoln. There is a Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Mary's across from the Capitol building and the March begins at 10:00 AM at the Capitol. If you are able to go to this, it is a wonderful way to give witness to the sanctity of life, especially to be a voice for the unborn who cannot speak for themselves. I usually go to this, but unfortunately I will not be able to do so since I have the Mass at the Holy Family Shrine that morning. Some of our parishioners go, so, if you are interested in going, I can connect you with them.

Next weekend after the Masses, I and the deacons will be doing the blessings of throats since it is the weekend closest to the feast day of St. Blaise, which is on February 3rd.

Have a wonderful and grace-filled week.

God bless you,
Fr. Gutowski
