From the Pastor's Desk - May 30, 2013

Dear Parishioners,
On this first Sunday of June, we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi remembering the great gift of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We know as Catholics that His Eucharistic Presence is the way that we most personally meet Him in this life and whereby we have the most personal relationship with Him that is possible. So, on this Feast let us have grateful hearts for Jesus always being with us in the Blessed Sacrament. It is fitting, too, that we honor our eighth graders who have been altar servers for us on this feast day as we thank them for having offered themselves these last four years to serve at Mass. We pray for them and wish them the best as they move on to high school.
During the month of June I will be away from the parish several times due to the other responsibilities that I have been given by the Archbishop. From June 5-9, as the national chaplain for the Catholic Medical Association, I will be in Chicago for their mid-year board meeting. Then, due to my responsibility as the director for continuing formation for priests in the Archdiocese, I will have to be up in Schuyler, NE at the St. Benedict Center for two events: from June 11-13 for a Good Leaders, Good Shepherds workshop and from June 24-28 for the first summer priest retreat. Also, since I have not taken all of the vacation time permitted for archdiocesan priests (up to four weeks) for the period of July 2012 to June 2013, I will be on vacation from June 14-21. Benedictine priests from Mt. Michael Abby and Fr. Chuck Swanson will be here for Masses, though for a few of the weekdays there will be a Communion Service done by Deacon Dave Christensen since no priests were available to offer Mass.
Have a blessed and grace-filled week.
God bless,
Fr. Gutowski
