From the Pastor's Desk - April 25, 2013

Dear Parishioners,
We congratulate our nine second graders who received their First Holy Communion last Sunday as well as their families. Let us thank Our Lord for the innocence of their lives and that he will always keep them close to His Eucharistic Heart.
Regarding another sacramental milestone for some of our children, at the 5:00 PM Mass this coming Saturday, May 4, two special girls, Sarah and Lily Riha, daughters of Scott and Ann Riha will be baptized. Sarah, because she is over 7 years old, will also receive the sacrament of Confirmation and make her First Holy Communion, which the Church directs to be done at the same time when someone beyond the age of reason is baptized. Let us keep these girls in our prayers as they come to receive these sacraments of initiation into the life of the Church. Of course, be aware that because of this special happening that the 5:00 PM Mass will be longer than usual.
Let these occasions that we celebrate for and with our children be an opportunity for us to grateful for the wonderful gift of the sacraments that we have received. How blessed we are that Our Lord in His love for us comes to us in the sacraments to save us and to unite us to Him through sanctifying grace. May we never lose our appreciation for the gift that the sacraments are to us.
Have a wonderful and grace-filled week.
God bless,
Fr. Gutowski
