From The Pastor's Desk - October 23, 2011

Dear Parishioners,

I thank you for your patience with the preparations that you are enduring in regards to the new English translation of the Roman Missal that contains the prayers for Mass. For the priests, we just had this past Monday and Tuesday a third clergy conference on this. So, I know what it is like to have someone talking to you about it numerous times. I am sorry for having gone so long last week in talking about the Introductory Rites to the Mass. I sensed persons' tiredness last weekend and someone did express this frustration to me. So, for the remaining Sundays that the Archbishop has directed that the preaching at Mass is to be on the parts of the Mass, I will keep things brief. If you have any questions about the Mass or the translation changes, please write these on the sheet provided in the bulletin and return it to the designated tray on the table at the entrance to the social hall. I will write out responses to these questions in a future bulletin insert.

On All Souls Day, November 2, besides the regular 8:00 Mass, I will celebrate a special Mass at 6:00 P.M. at the Holy Family Shrine at which all of the deceased members of our parish will be remembered by a votive candle being lit for each one. Likewise the deceased members of our Knights of Columbus Council will be remembered as well. So, I encourage as many as possible to come for Mass on this day on which we pray for the souls of the faithfully departed. If you would like to come, but cannot drive and therefore need a ride, please let me know by calling the rectory at 402-253-2889 (please leave a message, if I am unable to answer).

God bless and have a grace-filled week.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Gutowski
