From The Pastor's Desk - September 22, 2011

Dear Parishioners,
As we approach October, let us remember that in October we especially focus upon two themes. First, traditionally October is the Month of the Holy Rosary. Second, it is also Respect Life Month. Being both, we are especially encouraged by the Church to pray the Rosary for respect for all human life. If everyone and every family would at least pray a decade of the Rosary each day of October, this would be a wonderful way to participate in the Pro-Life cause, which has its foundation in prayer. When 50 million some children have perished through legalized abortion since 1973 and the culture of death keeps expanding even to the point of the possibility of the federal government taking away our rights of conscience to not cooperate in any anti-life activities, we need first to pray. Pray for the change of hearts. Pray for our nation’s leaders. Pray for mercy upon our country. Pray for all who have been deceived by the culture of death and believe that the killing, whether of innocent children in the womb or the sick and elderly, is the only solution to difficult personal problems. So, during this upcoming month of October let us commit ourselves to praying that the Gospel of Life that Jesus proclaims to us will be embraced by all in our society.

Have a wonderful week.

God bless,

Fr. Gutowski
