From The Pastor's Desk - July 31, 2011

Dear Parishioners,
As we hear of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fish in this Sunday’s Gospel, we are reminded that when we place at the service of the Lord whatever we have in the way of time, talent, and treasure He can make it fruitful. I especially want to thank all who contributed to our annual mission appeal, which was for the Columbans this year. I know that what has been given by our parish will be taken by the Lord and, through the missionary work of the Columbans, and made fruitful in bringing the good news of the Gospel to those they serve in the missions abroad.

As regards the renovation of the church, we are getting closer to receiving approval from the Archdiocese. The Archdiocesan Building Committee has reviewed the plans and sent back some questions for the architect to answer. Once these are answered, then, we should receive what is called a proxy from the Archbishop to proceed. Hence, when we get started we will be celebrating Mass in the social hall on the weekends. The help of anyone who can help with setting up and taking down each weekend of converting back and forth for weekend Masses and religious education classes during the week will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great week. God bless,
Fr. Gutowski
